The pump testing arrangement consists of channel circuits having a deep pit at one end for vertical pumps and V-notch and alternatively suppressed weir for flows up to 16000 lpm can be measured.
A hook gauge is provided at the side of the flow channel to measure water level over the V-notch/Weir. Calibrated pressure gauges or mercury manometers are used for measuring head. Calibrated two-watt meters measure the power input to the motor. Speed is measured by a calibrated contact less electronic tachometer.
